Euromediation provides an opportunity for people who are in dispute about family matters to make arrangements for the future in relation to finances and/or their children. Unlike litigation, it does not look back, but looks forward.

Euromediation particularly specialises in family cases with an international element or involving cross border disputes of law or where one or both clients do not speak English and would rather mediate in their own language.

A family mediator will facilitate discussions between two clients so that they can consider their options and propose solutions in a calm and measured environment. A mediator never imposes an outcome on the clients who are always the ultimate decision makers.

Encouraging the use of mediation assists in the resolution of disputes and helps to avoid the worry, time and cost associated with court-based litigation. The National Audit Office has estimated that the costs of mediation compared to litigation are less than half and that the time to resolve disputes is a third. In addition anecdotal evidence suggests that there is a 75% success rate in that clients agree on a proposed solution about all or some of their disputes.

Many people consider that people who engage in mediation are also less likely to encounter further disputes in the future as channels of communication will have been put in place.

Our mediators are all trained by Resolution and they are also all qualified family lawyers. They therefore understand the rules of litigation and how therefore to resolve disputes in a way which can then by formalised by lawyers so that it is binding upon the parties.
